Barry M Silk Nail Paint (Blossom)

I'm a huge fan of Barry M, there colour range is fab. When I saw these on the shelves I was straight in there, they looked so pretty.  I didn't really know what to expect from a 'silk' style polish but without a topcoat, the best way to describe it is a shimmery matte end product.

I applied three thin coats, the formula is quite thin, and can drag a bit if you apply this slowly. I found that thin coats worked best, with lots of time to dry in between. they dry down to a soft matte finish with a slight sheen.

I cannot recommend the nail polishes enough I cant wait to go back and pick up some more pastel colours, they are perfect for Spring/Summer.

Have you tried any colours from this line, would love to know your thoughts?

  1. I saw these last time I was in Boots and really wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to try them. Barry M have had so many different styles of nail varnish, some have been great like the gel ones but then others I didn't really like (MAGNETIC!) so it's a little hit and miss with me. Having read this review I think I would be reluctant to give them a go just because you've said about the thin formula and having to apply multiple coats, I prefer a varnish that is immediately opaque. Great review though, love that you're really honest about it and this is the first review I've read on this product!

  2. I wasn't sure when I saw these as I hate pearly nail polishes, but I actually like how this has dried. Normally shiny/pearly polishes remind me of a old ladies! Think I may have to pop back and get the minty colour they have of this.

  6. Oooooh I haven't seen these before! I'm not sure I've got the patience for 3 coats though, especially as I have a tendency to smudge my nail varnish immediately after applying ... Oops!
